How did 14U go at BBUSA?

by asmackdaddy » Mon Sep 21, 2009 9:00 am

I heard there were 12 14U teams

How did it go? Who came out on top? Who looked good? Who did not look good?
Did Sting really rig the bracket?

No chest thumping after all the tournaments this past weekend :o

Bunch of A teams played alot of B teams and alot of younger teams played up, can't see how one can tell how their team really compares to their equals !

Bob, you sound like a N Texas person. I was asking specifically about the teams that played at BBUSA this past weekend. In S Texas all tournament teams are A teams.

Yep, Sting took care of themselves. No doubt about it. I hope we are done playing in their crappy organized, stupid rules/format, predetermined tournaments!
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.

Talked to a parent whose DD plays on one of the better teams out there this weekend. They didnt say anything really about how the tournament was run, but did say there were only 3 competitive teams. Two of them were in the same bracket!!! :( :( They all wished the better teams were all playing together.

I was out there "ALL DAY SUNDAY" for just three games and it was amazing how big of a break there was in between some of the games. My dd's team was lucky and got out of there by 6:00 and that is with one of the fields being behind by an hour or so. Of course, our first game was at 8:00 am. I think it would be Ok if they had a better selection of food. Heck, I had to walk all the way to the front to get jalapanos for my nachos. That ain't right for a fat man to have to do that

That is also the first time I have seen 18U Gold teams play and I have to tell you, I wasn't that impressed. I think any ol' good 12U or 14U team could keep up with what I saw out there for 18's. Just my opinion though!!
