What is considered "unsportsmanlike conduct" in softball

by monkeysmom » Fri Nov 13, 2009 6:07 pm

Ok to keep the list going, thought of another one...am I the only person who cringes at the screaming pitchers? You know the when she delivers the pitch she literally yells. I have even seen one who yells after she delivers the pitch. IMHO it is a deliberate distraction and not cool.

I never it said it was the batters responsibility, it gets ugly in the situation because the batter is in the path of the throw.

How about teaching your catcher to deliberately push off the batter when making the pick-off throw to 1st? Catch the batter with a foot out of the box and wammo, she's out. We have a Houston team that uses this cheap shot all the time.

I never cared much for the tactic of the opposing coach loudly questioning some ultra fine point with the opposing pitchers motion to the blues.

This BS slows the game down and is used by adults to play with the heads of preteen and early teen girls.

The bitching is legal, but it dosent make it right.

Lunatic,

Did you ever consider that the coach who was questioning your pitcher was actually doing her a favor? Would you rather she continue let's say a particular motion until it becomes muscle memory and you really have a problem?

I can't remember the pitcher on my team having an improper motion, at least the blues never had a problem or called an illegal pitch. The sole purpose was to ice the pitcher and get into her head.

Icing a 12 year old is legal, but poor sportsmanship. Let the kids play. If your kids play better than my kids, then you will probably win

Ha :D why thank you...I enjoy debate and discussion...without some people on this site (I will not name names but you ALL know who I am talking about) attacking and insulting.

Gee now, who would that be?

You enjoy debate and discussion just as long as nobody takes issue with your positions. As soon as they do, you're down in the mud as fast as anyone on here. So get off your high horse...you look silly on it.

Good point. Now I wonder if hypocrisy is considered unsportsmanlike conduct on The Bucket?
