First of all, aren't the Fusion coaches hand picked and paid?

Secondly, if you don't like strategy then get out of sports all together. Football, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, etc. The coaches that succeed are the ones that play the game with every intent on winnning. Who steps on the field and says "Hey, I thnk we are going to lose today"?

Thirdly, if you want the stall tactic to stop then the tournament directors need to enforce the 7 inning rule like nationals but until then every coach will continue to fight for every win. The best coaches and will continue to use every means to teach their players to play from the beginnning to the end.... Glory, B.B., Travelers, Fusion, Peppers, Bombers, Elite, Houston Power,etc... that is why these teams succeed... their coaches know the rules and work the game!!!!!

First off, I as a parent didn't have a problem with our team not trying to stall the game out(rest assured, that we and our coaches were well aware of how to stall the rest of the time out, we didn't call time too early, we called it when we needed it)....Conversely, I had no problem with what glory did.....it is in the rules and it is called STRATEGY. if some don't like it, then don't do it, or don't play in tourneys that have time limits. Also to hold up this issue as this noble idea of sportsmanship and as we are above this, it doesn't hold water....we as parents have messed this noble idea up.....as soon as we (loosely used) decided to take it to the next level with private coaches, private lessons, looking for the next, greatest thing in the chase to get ahead....I remember back when all you had was league ball, and high school ball.....we busted our butt, went to camps, read books, etc. to get our scholarships.......make no mistake, true amatuer athletics, is a thing of the past.....so when people look for loopholes in the rules, I don't get mad, I EXPECT it......and if we do the samething to glory or someone else someday.....then thats the rules of the game in todays society. I am now done preaching.... :ugeek:

Isn't if funny to think that we are all probably ball park friends running in the same group?

I'm sure I know rip it, play4fun, yellow ball, txballclub, flash, and several others. It's fun to see what people really think!

I like the 60 minutes and then one more complete inning format. Cuts out the stalling as a tactic because the other team always gets one more at bat.

360.....is a FOOL!!!! He has no clue........I'm thinking now he/she is just someone making this all up just to get a rise out of people. No one can be this DUMB!!!

Any game with a time limit attached to it.......the manager, head coach is gonna work the clock......you have too. It's done in ever sport with a clock....IE Basketball, Football, Soccer...etc Yeah, baseball and softball weren't meant to be played with a clock..........but they are.........SO GET OVER IT. Why is it a coaches fault.....HOW??? Cause he manages a timed game a certain way??? Do you know umps stall too???? Ever seen a ump clean a bag late in the game.....when he hasn't all game? Or why does he take so much time reporting changes.....or allowing pitchers more minute between innings?? Ever notice that??? Look bottom line is.......each team gets the same amount of AB's....am I right?

Quit being FOOL, Quit acting DUMB!!! It's not about you........the KIDS DON'T CARE.......unless you cry about and make a big stink about it.

I have to admit you were easy. I've already admitted my call sign to a few, but what really pissed me off was several of my fellow 14U'ers thinking I was Lori- you know who you are! :D

As for the original subject, it's hard to pick well coached teams. There are several that may be well coached with no recruiting finesse, and vice versa. Here goes:

94, both 95's, and 94 Elliott- Glory teams. You may like them, you may hate them, but there has to be something to their coaching abilities purely on wins vs losses. I've seen Elliott's practice and it was well run. I've played against all 4 and they look like they all have a plan rather than just "go play and have fun".

Fusion- the older team is well put together, they have strong players in every category. I've seen their practices, well run. Very motivating on the field too. As for the younger Fusion team, I have high hopes for them now that they got rid of those 2 horrible coaches. Tons of young talent there if someone can just put it together.

Elite- another team with tons of talent, missing 1 or 2 positions, will continue to come together with this springs new coaching and players. Well run, hard, productive practices.

95 Travelers- I love watching this team play. They're fun to watch, have some big personalities, and can get the job done.

I'm obviously familiar with this area/age group and sure there are more. I can think of 3 more off the top of my head that are well-coached in my opinion but just don't have the depth of talent that the above teams do.

Here's the question I posed to my husband the other night- why can't some of these talented teams push through to consistent placing every weekend? His response was coaching, well thanks for the clarification, genius. I'm going to pay a little more attention this weekend and see if I can't narrow that down.
