It seems like a fair enough question in my mind, although you certainly do not owe anyone on this board a response. If it truly is with the Peppers than you have once again displayed your true colors. It was just about a month ago when there was all the talk about Midland and you guys picking up with them because they were going ASA and the Phantoms were probably going USFA. If memory serves me correctly, I believe you stated on here that Phantoms come first.

Now I'm sure you will come on here and say how everyone on both sides is fine with the arrangement and in the end you are only doing what is best for your DD. Or maybe you will make the comment that this is what she really wants to do or how you left the decision up to her. But, if that is the case, I think that is part of the problem. Not just with you but with many other parents I know. Passive parenting. The idea that a 13 year old girl knows more than her parents and therefore is left with the decision making process. Hey I know parenting is not easy and all of us wants to be best friends with our kids, but it doesn't always work out that way. You have to sometimes make hard decisions while parenting that may be unpopular with your kids. Like I have stated before I dont really know your situation, but it looks like you started with one team, their goals changed and you got a better offer from another team. So you jump ship. I understand! But at the same time I am not sure what you are teaching your kid. Perhaps you didnt do a good enough job in your initial research when trying to pick a team for the Spring.

Mark, the fact that you think I am going after or attacking your DD only illustrates how paranoid and defensive you are really are. I do not believe any rational person would read my post and think I was going after your DD. Once again, your last reply provides me and others out there with yet another glimpse into what makes you tick. Divorce is never a good thing and it is especially difficult when children are involved so you have my sincere sympathy. However, the fact you are on your second wife does not come as a complete shock.

Again, you are not the only person on here with a very talented DD. I choose not to run my mouth about her prowess and let her actions speak for themselves. Trust me I am not who you think I am. Name dropping college coaches and radar guns is all well and good, but you do not have a clue what the recruiting process is all about. In my numerous personal conversations with Connie, Glenn and Yvette (that's UT, Baylor & LSU if you are wondering) they have all stressed to me that it is not all about how fast you throw, or your batting average, or your home to first speed, but it is the total package. A STUDENT-athlete with the right character. In that total package, family is a huge part of the equation. So you continue to focus on radar guns and the sort and I will continue to focus on other more meaningful things and in the end we will let the chips fall where they may. Regardless, if my DD or your DD is fortunate to continue to play this sport past high school and still loves doing so and competing, then all will be happy. Just don't forget, we are not only preparing our DD's for HS and college, but most importantly for life thereafter.

OMG!!! Another life lesson. I can't take it. You miss the point again. Strike three, your out!!
Please just keep parenting your kid the great way that you know how to and quit trying to tell other people how to do it. Still glad to have you back.
