Website for last gold qualifer for Region 7 in Beaumont

Many teams got screwed around in San Antonio when Impact pulled out, other teams got screwed in OKC last weekend with qualified teams in the tournament, and now the last qualifier is being played where it rains all the time and there is no back up plan. It hasn't rained a drop in Houston, when all of this hit they could have moved it down the road, or at least have made plans to finish the winners bracket over there tomorrow. The forecast is for more rain tonight and tomorrow, if that happens then what?

It would be nice to see some updates to that bracket also.

It's crap like this that will make Premier take off and ASA Gold ball become "B" level ball.....if it hasn't already to a certain extent.

You may be right, but I don't think Premier has all of their ducks in a row either. They scheduled their "Texas Qualifier" during a dead period, which meant that no college coaches could come if they wanted to. And I don't know why Premier would expect teams to spend the money and time to travel to these "qualifiers" when they already have their network of friends and associates in the tournament, that didn't have to qualify.

To me that is still what makes ASA better at this point, is that the teams have to earn their right to go to the championship. I think as we have seen in Texas, they have dropped the ball by splitting the Region 7 tournament, allowing one of the head ASA officials manipulate the rules to his own advantage (in Houston and San Antonio, most of you know who and what I'm talking about) and having a qualifier in a location that is notorious for rain.

One thing that I've come to realize, and this is the part that has hit me the hardest here lately, is that with ASA and Premier, its all about the money and the power to control. They all say that they are in this for the kids, and while many kids do benefit from all of the exposure and competition, there is a completely different agenda for those that are actually in control of the situation. At least thats the way it is in Texas.

ASA should never give anything else to Beaumont. This situation is actually a little sad.

Texas ASA should clean house. It's long over due. Go away Houston ASA comish.

We need new blood and you and your cronies need to go away.

If you really love the game and the girls ...just disappear. Let's have some new ideas.

Does anyone know who finally got the three bids? I heard the last several games got rained out and they did it based on some other formula... Our Bombers Gold team was one of the last 4 and my understanding is that they made it, but was wondering if anyone from there got the info on how it was decided and who got those slots.

This is Premier's first season. ASA has been at it for how long?

And you're complaining, not only that Premier had a Texas qualifier, but had it at the wrong time? Would you have complained if they didn't have a Texas qualifier at all? What would it take to make you happy?

By starting off with many of the top programs in the country (or in your words, "their network") Premier made itself a viable entry from the get go. By adding the qualifiers, they made it possible for everyone to compete. Then they got ESPN RIse on board. Not bad for a first year outfit, huh?
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

well congrats to Bombers for getting a berth. The whole issue of a watered down (literally) tournament for 3 of the final 64 gold berths is garbage. This is not like the other Nationals where 120 or more teams get berths. They should of packed everyone up and moved at least to Houston or Austin to get the actuall tournament played. Texas ASA and district 39 just showed it is all about the money. Still no results posted for anything. It would be nice to know who along with the Bombers get handed berths due to weather.

It just amazes me after the SA qualifer that the rules change. A team can come up from the losers bracket and play for a berth. Thinking ASA should cancel the Beaumont tourney and look at the SA results and pick from there

Easy Ntxsftballnut.....no one handed us or anyone else in this tournament a berth! I think you degrade how hard all the players have worked to even get to a point where they would be in a position to earn a berth when the rains came! Is it disappointing that the tournament ended the way it did with rain...yes! But to make those comments does not serve any purpose but to down grade the achievement of the players themselves. I cant speak for anyone else and I wont because they can speak for themselves but our team has played in every qualifier but the Fla tournament and has been in the qualifying game 3 times and fell short...so finally getting it done after the grind of playing EVERY weekend since the HS State Tournament , leaves us in a position to defend our stance of "No one gave us anything"

The fact that the Region tournament was broken up into two (3) berth tournaments is what I did not like....some very good teams missed out on a berth due to runs allowed! I feel bad about that...because these same teams went through the same grind I described!

I hope you understand my response....take care and see you on the field!
