Do not buy a Techzilla bat!

What's on your mind?

by jofus » Thu May 22, 2008 10:48 am

Well, my DD's came in today. She has a little league game at 6, so we won't be able to break it in for that game, but hopefully she can get some swings in after her game so it's ready for her tournament this weekend.

I'm not really expecting it to add a "lot" to her distance, but IF it adds 10 feet to what she is getting from her old Demarini F2, then she would have probably cleared the fence with one of her hits last night had I ordered it a couple days earlier.

A big Thanks again to Natalie at Notorious Sports for a flawless transaction :)

$4.35 for gal. of gas for 200 mile round trip to tournament.
$150 for over night stay in a hotel
$260 for new Anderson Techzilla FP
watching DD hit first home run (over centerfields head) PRICELESS!!!

Did I mention the homerun was a grandslam. Also the game ending hit forcing the mercy after 4 innings.

Funny story about the bat. After reading alot of post on here on how your DD's said the Techzilla felt lighter than their bat, I decided to buy a 32/22. DD has been swinging a 31/21. Since the bat arrived, she had not been swinging it well at all. Called Anderson, asked if they would exchange it for a smaller bat. Which they did. Sent out the first bat on Tuesday, new bat arrived yesterday. Hit a few softoss Friday night, then into tourney Today. BINGO. DD loves the bat.

They exchanged it for a smaller one? I wish I had known that a few weeks ago, I would have traded for a 32/22 possibly.

I think she's getting used to it though, she was swinging just a tad under everything (popping up quite a bit), but this weekend she started straightening them out a little better. She hasn't hit one out yet, but she hit one in the last game yesterday that was darn close, we thought it was gone when she hit it.

I had heard that Anderson has an undocumented 30 day guarantee, so I called them and asked. The only question they asked is who did I buy it from and if I had the original reciept. I told them I bought it off the internet and my reciept was a PayPal reciept. Then he gave the RMA#. Great customer service in my book. I am looking to buy another one for the DD.

30 days? Hmmm...I may still be in that window. Does it matter how used it is, she's been using it so obviously it's a little marked up.

Andersons 30 Risk Free Demo Program is well documented and they have offered the program since the company's inception. This is the exact verbage (I bolded the important facts) taken from their website:

Proof is at the Plate!
RISK FREE DEMO PROGRAM

All the hype in the world cannot make a bat perform. The only true way to find out if a bat is right for you is to hit it. Anderson Bat Company is the first and ONLY bat company to offers a risk free demo program on our bats. We are confident that once you step up to the plate with an Anderson Bat you’ll never want to put it down. We’re SO confident that we’ll allow you to return your bat for a refund if you’re not completely satisfied.

-How it Works-

You purchase a bat from an authorized, participating dealer and take it out for a 30 day test drive. Make sure you take plenty of batting practice to insure peak performance and feel. If at anytime during this 30 day period you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase you can follow the necessary steps to get your money back or trade it out for another model. Just give the dealer you bought the bat from a call for instructions on how to handle the situation. Remember, all dealers handle the 30 day demo program differently, so make sure you talk to them about it BEFORE you make your purchase.

There is no other bat manufacturer on the planet who GUARANTEES you will like their bat, or your money back! This is what makes purchasing an Anderson Bat such a wise decision. Not only are our bats the highest in performance, durability and value… now owning one is risk free!

The key is to find a dealer that participates in the program as not all of them do. Some dealers will only offer you another size or model and will not refund your money....others will have you deal directly with Anderson for the model/size trade. Anderson Bat doesn't sell bats, they sell customer service! Great customer service leads to great customer satisfaction

I didn't realize that you could possibly trade for a different size. If Anderson lets me do that after she's already hit it, I will be a fan for life :)

I had a rare opportunity to play in my slow pitch league Sunday evening and somebody had brought out an Anderson TechWrap, circa 2000! So I used it. Nice bat. They just seem to do things right there at Anderson. :D

I can't help but wonder, if Anderson's bats are so good, and they certainly seem to live up to all the hype, why would anyone buy anything else?
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

I have seen some teams that 80% of the girls swing Anderson bats.

We are Anderson bat diehards. Only one other bat in the dugout for one girl.

Anderson will DEFINITELY trade you out in the first 30 days...doesn't matter how much you've used the bat...in fact, I just swapped my DD's 33/23 down to a 32/22 (she did well slapping with the 33/23, but just looked overpowered by it from the right)...
