DD does practice a lot every day. Like any normal 10 year old she picks up mechanical flaws that need to be corrected and are corrected once identified. The source of my frustration is that her coach is completely ignoring mechanics and velocity and making pitching rotation decisions after one week of practice based solely on whether the ball crosses the plate or not.
If I had known every practice pitch she would throw was subject to a grade I would have certainly pulled her out of her swim team practices.
At 10u I would never lock my kid into a 1 role player. If we try out for various teams we do mention she can pitch but at this age she wants to learn every position on the field. When joining a team & this is preached on my DD 10u TB team religously, is " You are joining this team to be on the Team not to be a 1st basemen, Pitcher, SS etc.... We are here to get better & learn the game. Coach will put you where we feel is the best spot for you. If you can not deal with this then our team is not for you."
I have already seen a 10u pitcher in SoCal who is actually a descent little pitcher but thats the only thing PoPs wants for her and she has played on 3 or 4 different teams this year and now I do not even think she os playing.
