As I’m watching all this happen from the Rebels side of the field I see the parent from the Corona Angels TRYING to talk to the parent of the Rebels. Yes it did get heated and NO fists were flying at this point. While the Corona Angels parent is trying to talk to the one Rebels parent (mind you CA parent by himself) you see 4 other Rebels parents surrounding the one Angel parent. One Rebels parent pushes the Angel parent, then the other Rebel parent rushes the Angel parent from behind which leads the Angel parent pinned to the ground. After that all the Rebel parents (men) started to pound on this 1 angel parent. Next thing you know the other Angel parents are rushing to stop the group from pounding the parent.

To parents of both sides: Have some class…Remember it’s for the girls…DO NOT RUB A LOSS IN THE GIRLS FACES AFTER A WIN. I saw this happen with several other teams yesterday that the Rebels played against. Parents, cheering for your girls is one thing, LEAVE IT AT THAT.

PowerSurge you played a wonderful game. It was fun coming out to root for you guys. Good Luck in States!

This is so false and it is obvious you did not see this. It will all come out in the investigation though. Believe that.

The kids were hearing that..Seeing that...Some of the people were upset by that. Words were exchanged about his choice of words and actions..So people start leaving after a few choice words to the guy and out of no where this same guy starts running 60 yards around the field like Forrest Gump...into a group of people who are just trying to stop him from hitting someone..he knocks down one women, swings at a guy, misses, hit another women and knocks her down..then people jumped in to take this yoyo down..I don't know what you would expect people to do when this clown is running into a group of people swinging. Not too many men are going to let someone assault their wives/girlfriends like that and not react..

First of all, the coaches were down on the field with the girls when the exchange took place between two parents on the Rebels and Angels. Both were cussing at eachother back and forth, there more mostly women and teens in the stands and people did try to stop the two from fighting behind the backstop. It was after that exchange, when it died down and the coaches were with the girls in the circle starting to talk that the parent took off running around the outfield towards the Rebels group, it was surreal and happened so fast and unexpected no one really knew what was happening.

Please dont place blame on the Angels coaches for one parent. No one is placing blame on the Rebels parents for taking him down and trying to get him under control. Angels coaches came to get him out of there before he got himself killed, not to join in any fight - but to end it.

Seeing that this comes from the Angels scorekeeper, she also admits that things had died down, the teams went opposite ways, when this guy comes running over to the Rebel side swinging before he got there. SELF DEFENSE.

If the organization handles it, I would say that is fine.. But if they are going to throw blame on ours for what happened, then I say file charges! As soon as that guy made the decision to run across the field and hit someone, it was totally on him. Accept responsibility for your choices.

I don't think anyone is trying to lay blame only on yours. But, the Rebels have to take some responsibility for not controlling the mouth of their parent, they didn't even come over to get him away from the stands during the first altercation, just let him go on and on he walked away laughing, while the Angels parent was being restrained. Obviously, there are variations of the story, everyone sees only what they directly experience and don't see the entire situation. When the Rebel's parent continued to call the Angels parent out, the Angels parent should have left the field, instead he made a huge mistake and ran over to meet the challenge. There are eye-witnesses not affiliated with either team that state they were in a heated verbal battle when other Rebel parents boxed him in, push came to shove and fists started flying with women in the middle, etc. Very ugly.... BUT, it all comes down to the Angels parent should have just left regardless of anything being said and shouldn't have said and done the things he did in the stands either.

This whole thing about don't blame us, going back and forth etc. is stupid, we all have our opinions and perceptions. IMO both parents need to accept responsibility for their own actions, if other Rebels parents took the Angels parent down because they needed to, then they did what they thought they had to do. If someone from the Rebels pushed him during the heated exchange, then that wasn't very smart and if they started beating on him Rodney King style while he was down, then that's another matter. Like I said, lots of variations, but we will leave it up to the unaffiliated eye witnesses to clarify what they saw because all of us were too busy calming the kids down.

The teams need to make their own decisions based upon what actually happened and that might take a few days for things to cool down, talking to witnesses and so forth. Those decisions will be made by the coaches/organizations, not any of us on HB.

Thank you and I have had NUMEROUS parents and Corona Angel parents already write us an apologize. If it was the "ghetto Rebels," why did CA parents apologize? Just curious on that. The tournament director took both sides and after hearing our side allowed us to continue playing so if we were at fault, why were we not kicked out? Add everything up and common sense tells you that the losing team was probably frustrated much more than the Rebels.

Since we have completely turned this on the Rebels, which we all knew would happen, what would you have done differently? If a guy comes running, full speed, already swinging, 200 feet on our side of the field, what was the correct reaction? That is what I would like to know.

PLUS THE GUY WAS WASTED DRUNK!!

Talk about ghetto....taking the blame from this ONE parent to the Rebels is ghetto and defending his "act" because you do not like the Rebels is super ghetto. I hope he gets what he deserves...a direct arrest to jail.

Although I didn't make this statement, come on.....Don't even come on here and act like there hasn't been issues with that team before.....Come on.....

Nobody said that the Rebels caused this incident did they???? We are just saying that coincidentally their team always seems to have this crap surrounding it.....Where there's smoke there's fire????....Maybe, maybe not!

I have been coaching or playing for 24 years and have NEVER seen anything like this and this has never happened with the Rebel organization. The REBELS always have this happen? Name another time. Have the Firecrackers had drama? Have the CA teams had drama? Has Jesse been blasted on here? Phil? This isn't the Rebels. This is heybucket at it's best. If you were forced to sign your name, 90% of this wouldn't even be said.

Just a FYI: two years ago, the Corona Angel organization was at Triple Crown and the head coach and two parents ended up in Utah jail. Broken noses, etc. so hmmmm, let's stick to the facts of the matter and not the opinions.

dhay wrote:Folks, There have been a few comments about a lack of tournament representation at the HB complex on Sunday. Gary and I were at the fields the entire day, with the exception of a few errands that had to be run. I relieved Gary at 1pm and continued to drive my golf cart from one end of the complex to another making sure everything was running smoothly.

When the game between the Angels and Rebels concluded the umpires came to me and said that the parents on both sides of the stands were out of control, but especially the parent from the Angels. I drove onto the field and asked the Angel coaches if everything had died down and they said yes. They seemed pretty embarrassed that a parent from their side was behaving in this manner. I witnessed no hostility from the Angel coaches themselves, in fact just the opposite, they seemed very dissappointed with the parent in question.

I filled the rack up with a new supply of balls and hung around for a few minutes. Everything seemed to be fine. I then drove up to the upper fields where the 14U's were playing. They were over an hour behind and I wanted to make sure we didnt get any further behind. About 20 minutes later my field maintenance guy said that there was a fight on the lower fields and quite frankly I didnt believe it because I thought that everyones tempers had subsided. Obviously not....when I got back to the lower fields the Angel parent had already left the park, and everyone was pretty much spread out over the entire park again talking about the brawl.

I am sorry that I wasnt there to actually witness this unfortunate event. But I am not sure what I could have done to stop it anyway. From the sound of things, this parent seemed pretty set on escalating this issue he had with the Rebels.

But I wanted to clarify that Gary was in attendance from 6:30am to 1pm and I was in attendance from 1pm till 10pm. With the exception of leaving the fields for about an hour to pick up the trophies. Gary Haning also traveled to all the satelite fields on Saturday numerous times to make sure things were going as smoothly as possible. I was running the NIKE and coaching in the NIKE Faster to First High School Tournament on Saturday at the Sport Complex.
We do the best that we can, but obviously cant be in all places at the same time.

Surf City Tourneys would like to apologize for the unfortunate behaviour of these two teams.
As you know, we specialize in Showcase events for 18Gold. We have always held this tournament for the younger age groups so that they can also get the opportunity to play at the HB Sports Complex and we hope to continue that tradition in the future.

Dan Hay
Surf City Tourneys

It is also documented that in the 3rd inning, the REBELS said they would pull their team off the field and just forfeit if the Angels could not keep their mouthes shut in front of our kids. That was also witnessed by everyone and the umpire could attest and might have to if this goes further.

This is for Clean_up and LA FAMILIA

Clean_up says:
Coach Kenny wasn't talking to Aimee or the dugout, he was telling his batters something to which Aimee took offense to and she addressed him first, then he responded, then Aimee complained to the umpire.

Hmmmmm, I guess Amie made this all up just to be mean huh or the 14 little girls who also heard him (Are you calling them liars too?) Kenny was taunting point blank lady you were sitting next too the disgruntle parent and the motor mouth score keeper for the Angels. The whole time the score keeper was taunting how slow the Rebels pitcher was and that we can hit her all day. I guess you didn't hear that part because you were sitting so close too her huh? Why didn't you use common sense and say something to him when he was yelling Amie's name??? Like I said he made it personal. (I think a parent has a video on his blackberry if you want too get technical about it. At this point he or she don't mind at all too expose you.) . If they do the Rebel chant so what????? They only do it to cheer their team on. It's nothing wrong with that stop reaching........

Actually, I have many times seen and heard fans cheer for their team. The Rebels chant is annoying, loud and meant to distract the opposing team and it is successful. I was just guessing on why he started yelling her name, it was rude and personal against her, you are correct and IMO uncalled for. Spell check? Who really cares how she spells her name, seriously? Besides spell check shows AMY.

I see now you have a problem with The Rebels chant, LOL I'm sorry that you are intimated by it. Please don't go too any sports event or professional games outside of softball you might have a nervous break down lady!!! One minute you try too sound all righteous about things and the next minute sneaking your little blows in about the Rebels. (Snake) WOW is Amie the only word you misspelled I think not, LMAO Go back and look again!!! LOL

LA FAMILIA says: just to confirm that CA Rebels have the most GHETTO CREW AND COACHES

The only word that comes out of your mouth is GHETTO hmmmmm do you know anything else?? Ghetto this, Ghetto that! If I look in the dictionary for the word GHETTO would I see a picture of you???? I think everyone on here needs to treat you a little different, because you are a very special person. Figure that one out GHETTO BOY!!

hotwheels wrote:I hear what you are saying but you are acting like your team had no fault here.....Don't taunt the other team....That didn't help things.....You guys were both way out of line and both parties are to blame not just one team.......DON'T BLAME.....FIX!

Nobody taunted anyone except the Angels taunting the Rebels (1 Angel coach and 1 Angel parent). Bottom line. After the "taunting" got OUT OF CONTROL BY ONE ANGEL PARENT, the Rebel parents defended our kids by telling this drunk fool to shut up. This is when he rushed to our side trying to fight in the stands. He was held back, but he obviously wanted more when he ran at our crowd.

Hotwheels, I am not sure if you are a man or a woman but if you are a man, and some lunatic ran as fast as possible, swung and hit your daughters FEMALE coach, and another MOM on the team, would you have tried to stop him or would you try and discuss things calmly when he's swinging at your wife? Just curious.
