As I’m watching all this happen from the Rebels side of the field I see the parent from the Corona Angels TRYING to talk to the parent of the Rebels. Yes it did get heated and NO fists were flying at this point. While the Corona Angels parent is trying to talk to the one Rebels parent (mind you CA parent by himself) you see 4 other Rebels parents surrounding the one Angel parent. One Rebels parent pushes the Angel parent, then the other Rebel parent rushes the Angel parent from behind which leads the Angel parent pinned to the ground. After that all the Rebel parents (men) started to pound on this 1 angel parent. Next thing you know the other Angel parents are rushing to stop the group from pounding the parent.
To parents of both sides: Have some class…Remember it’s for the girls…DO NOT RUB A LOSS IN THE GIRLS FACES AFTER A WIN. I saw this happen with several other teams yesterday that the Rebels played against. Parents, cheering for your girls is one thing, LEAVE IT AT THAT.
PowerSurge you played a wonderful game. It was fun coming out to root for you guys. Good Luck in States!

The kids were hearing that..Seeing that...Some of the people were upset by that. Words were exchanged about his choice of words and actions..So people start leaving after a few choice words to the guy and out of no where this same guy starts running 60 yards around the field like Forrest Gump...into a group of people who are just trying to stop him from hitting someone..he knocks down one women, swings at a guy, misses, hit another women and knocks her down..then people jumped in to take this yoyo down..I don't know what you would expect people to do when this clown is running into a group of people swinging. Not too many men are going to let someone assault their wives/girlfriends like that and not react..
First of all, the coaches were down on the field with the girls when the exchange took place between two parents on the Rebels and Angels. Both were cussing at eachother back and forth, there more mostly women and teens in the stands and people did try to stop the two from fighting behind the backstop. It was after that exchange, when it died down and the coaches were with the girls in the circle starting to talk that the parent took off running around the outfield towards the Rebels group, it was surreal and happened so fast and unexpected no one really knew what was happening.
Please dont place blame on the Angels coaches for one parent. No one is placing blame on the Rebels parents for taking him down and trying to get him under control. Angels coaches came to get him out of there before he got himself killed, not to join in any fight - but to end it.

This is so false and it is obvious you did not see this. It will all come out in the investigation though. Believe that.

If the organization handles it, I would say that is fine.. But if they are going to throw blame on ours for what happened, then I say file charges! As soon as that guy made the decision to run across the field and hit someone, it was totally on him. Accept responsibility for your choices.

I witnessed this and i'm not part of either teams, but ghetto rebels? this was over 1 corona angel parent that could not be controlled.

Although I didn't make this statement, come on.....Don't even come on here and act like there hasn't been issues with that team before.....Come on.....
Nobody said that the Rebels caused this incident did they???? We are just saying that coincidentally their team always seems to have this crap surrounding it.....Where there's smoke there's fire????....Maybe, maybe not!
dhay wrote:Folks, There have been a few comments about a lack of tournament representation at the HB complex on Sunday. Gary and I were at the fields the entire day, with the exception of a few errands that had to be run. I relieved Gary at 1pm and continued to drive my golf cart from one end of the complex to another making sure everything was running smoothly.
When the game between the Angels and Rebels concluded the umpires came to me and said that the parents on both sides of the stands were out of control, but especially the parent from the Angels. I drove onto the field and asked the Angel coaches if everything had died down and they said yes. They seemed pretty embarrassed that a parent from their side was behaving in this manner. I witnessed no hostility from the Angel coaches themselves, in fact just the opposite, they seemed very dissappointed with the parent in question.
I filled the rack up with a new supply of balls and hung around for a few minutes. Everything seemed to be fine. I then drove up to the upper fields where the 14U's were playing. They were over an hour behind and I wanted to make sure we didnt get any further behind. About 20 minutes later my field maintenance guy said that there was a fight on the lower fields and quite frankly I didnt believe it because I thought that everyones tempers had subsided. Obviously not....when I got back to the lower fields the Angel parent had already left the park, and everyone was pretty much spread out over the entire park again talking about the brawl.
I am sorry that I wasnt there to actually witness this unfortunate event. But I am not sure what I could have done to stop it anyway. From the sound of things, this parent seemed pretty set on escalating this issue he had with the Rebels.
But I wanted to clarify that Gary was in attendance from 6:30am to 1pm and I was in attendance from 1pm till 10pm. With the exception of leaving the fields for about an hour to pick up the trophies. Gary Haning also traveled to all the satelite fields on Saturday numerous times to make sure things were going as smoothly as possible. I was running the NIKE and coaching in the NIKE Faster to First High School Tournament on Saturday at the Sport Complex.
We do the best that we can, but obviously cant be in all places at the same time.
Surf City Tourneys would like to apologize for the unfortunate behaviour of these two teams.
As you know, we specialize in Showcase events for 18Gold. We have always held this tournament for the younger age groups so that they can also get the opportunity to play at the HB Sports Complex and we hope to continue that tradition in the future.
